A Life Restored!

When we first meet someone, we can never begin to imagine their life history and exactly where they’ve come from.  Such was the case when we met Shannah, a beautiful, vibrant woman, full of the love of Jesus.  We met while she was serving on the missions field and she was a delight to get to know,  as she radiated to those around her the joy that comes from knowing Him.

Then as we spent more time together, she shared her story of how, when she was very young, she was sold to a “master” in her homeland nation in Africa.  She then entered into a season of horrific abuse – physically, emotionally and sexually – by her “master” and his friends and workers.  One day, she was miraculously rescued and sent to home, then subsequently adopted into a family in the USA which gave her a chance at living a normal life.  God broke through her pain and woundedness and her life has been amazingly restored.  Her heart is now full of love and forgiveness and she genuinely prays for her former abuser in Africa. Only the power of God’s love can do that!

Imagine This Was Your Home…

Can you even begin to imagine what it would feel like to live right on a garbage dump?  The putrid air as plastics and chemicals are burned, the disease, the filth… the stench!

For a group of people near Siem Reap in Cambodia, this is their reality.  They have no other source of income, but to glean what they can from what the garbage trucks dump at this site.  If the discarded food is good enough, they’ll feed their own family with it.  If it’s already rotting, they’ll sell it to people who own pigs to feed them.  Any little thing that can be salvaged is carried away like a prize, either used themselves, or sold, if they’re lucky.

The yellow and black tarp you see in the picture is someone’s home for their entire family. XP and our team of January outreach students had the opportunity to minister to these precious ones that Jesus loves and values!  They are not rubbish to Him!

God showed up in many ways, with healings, salvations and through our team with handing out rice, fruit and fresh water for many.  We also shared small toys with the children, who so valued even the smallest treasure that wasn’t broken, discarded, and dirty.  We played games with the kids, we hugged and loved on the people there, and to see their faces light up when she realized that someone took the time to value them was unforgettable!

God loves the forgotten, the down-trodden and the poor.  And so do we at XP Missions!  Visit XPmissions.com for ways that you can help.

Patricia King Joins the Iris Ministries 680 Club!

Many of you know our good friend’s, Heidi and Rolland Baker, and the amazing work they spearhead through Iris Ministries in Africa and around the globe.  What some of you might not know is that their airplane that they have used for years to reach out into the unreached people’s groups, crashed last year.  Thankfully no one was killed, but the plane was a complete loss.

They are committed to purchasing a new plane, but these are not cheap planes, given their need for a heavy payload, a short runway in the jungles, and their reliability in adverse situations.

The plane that best suits their missionary needs is called the Quest Kodiak – the cost of this aircraft is $1.63 million and already, $741,000 has been raised by Iris, but an additional $681,000 is required before they can purchase the plane.

So, true to our other friend’s heart, Kris Vallotton from Bethel Church, has started a “680 Club” – if 680 people could donate $1,000 each, this plane can get into full-time Kingdom work!!!!

Visit this web-site below to read more and to donate directly to this project!  Bless your heart for your support and prayers to get the Baker’s team back into the air!
